Stillwater 500

Stillwater, Oklahoma Private

Stillwater 500 is a member-run dirt bike and ATV park southwest of Stillwater, Oklahoma, with about 33 miles of trails and a motocross track.

The Stillwater 500 is a long-running trail riding and motocross park west of Stillwater, Oklahoma, run by the Stillwater Trail Riders. Riders call it the "500" after its roughly 500 acres, and it has been a local riding spot for more than 40 years. Riders also know it as the Stillwater Cycle Park or Stillwater Motorcycle Park. Sources describe about 33 to 36 miles of trails plus a motocross track, on red clay and soft dirt with plenty of trees, a few steep hills, and some singletrack, jumps, and berms. Most of the riding is aimed at amateur riders, with some terrain for novices and experts.

The park is open to dirt bikes, ATVs, and mountain bikes. Side-by-sides and registered street vehicles are not allowed.

Getting there

The park is at 6500 West 56th Street in southwest Stillwater. From town, one published route follows SR-177 south about 4 miles, turns west on 56th Street for about 5.7 miles, and finds the entrance on the left (south) side of the road. Gas and a convenience store are a short drive back toward Stillwater, and Lake Carl Blackwell has campgrounds a bit farther out.

Fees, permits, and rules

This is a private park on leased land, and you need an annual membership or permit to ride. The application can be mailed in or handled online through the club's membership site, and local motorcycle shops have also sold permits. Published prices differ: a RiderPlanet listing from 2025 says $75 per rider covering two adults and two children under 18, while a club Facebook post says $95, so confirm the current price with the club before you go.

  • A spark arrestor is required on all vehicles.
  • A 96 dB noise limit is listed.
  • Riders must stay on the trails; no trail blazing.
  • Alcohol is prohibited, and camping is listed as prohibited on site.
  • Oklahoma law requires a helmet for riders under 18, and riders of any age should wear one.

When to ride

The permit is listed as open year-round. The clay surface gets slick and rutted when wet, so plan around rain. The park's history includes a 2017 to 2018 scare when the City of Stillwater, which held the lease, considered closing it over liability; the club has since organized as a nonprofit so the park can continue. Check the club's site or Facebook page for current status and any closures before making a long trip.
