Scipio Trails

Scipio, Oklahoma Private

Scipio Trails is a club-run, pass-required 2,500-acre riding area near Scipio, Oklahoma, with a 29-mile one-way singletrack loop through tight woods.

Scipio Trails is the home property of the Tulsa Trail Riders, a volunteer club dating to 1956, in the wooded hills of southeastern Oklahoma. The centerpiece is a continuous loop of about 29 miles of singletrack that threads tight timber, climbs hills, and crosses water and rocky ground. It is known as a challenging, technical place to ride, and it hosts one round of the Black Jack Enduro Circuit each year. Riders may also see it listed as Scipio Recreational Trails, Scipio Multi-Use Recreational Area, or simply Scipio (Tulsa Trail Riders).

Every trail is one way. If you need to get back to the parking area, take the next road back rather than riding the trail against traffic. There is also a designated kids loop of roughly three-quarters of a mile, about 50 yards east of the pavilion, which makes it workable for families with young riders.

Fees, permits, and rules

This is private property operated by the club, and you need a pass to ride. The club sells a day pass (sunrise to sunset), a 2-day/1-night overnight pass, a 3-day/2-night pass, and annual individual and family memberships through its website. Current prices are listed in the practical info below; check the club site, since prices change.

  • Spark arresters are required, and loud exhaust systems are not allowed.

When to ride
