Majestic Trails

Rew, Pennsylvania Private

Majestic Trails is a family-run private riding park near Rew, Pennsylvania, with 40-plus miles of marked one-way trails, some singletrack, and an MX play area.

Majestic Trails is a privately owned, pay-to-ride park in the Allegheny Mountains of northwestern Pennsylvania, on roughly 1,000 forested acres between Smethport and Rew. It has run since 2001 and leans family friendly: the trails are marked, rated, and groomed, and most of the riding suits novice and amateur riders, with only a little aimed at experts. Sources put the network at somewhere between 41 and 50-plus miles, laid out as two one-way loops through hardpack woods with water bars, a few steep hills, some mud, and small to medium jumps and berms.

Dirt bikes are welcome, and about seven miles of the trails are designated singletrack. ATVs and side-by-sides share the park but are kept off some singletrack sections. There is also a motocross play area and a separate peewee track and trails for young riders (the peewee track is listed for 50 to 90 cc bikes). It is not a big-mountain or expert park, so plan on a relaxed day of woods riding rather than technical challenge.

Getting there

The park's mailing address is on PA 46 near Smethport, but the entrances are reached from Rew. From the intersection of PA 46 and PA 646 in Rew, go about 0.8 mile and turn left onto Fitch Hill Road, a dirt road with a "Majestic Trails 1 mile ahead" sign, to reach the camping area. Day riders should not stop at the campground; continue south about 1.2 miles past the camping entrance and turn left onto the dirt road to the trailhead and day-use area. Call ahead to confirm current directions, since the details come from a third-party listing.

Fees, permits, and rules

Day passes are $25 for adults, $20 for veterans, and $10 for kids 14 and under and for passengers; a two-day pass is $40. Annual memberships run $150 single, $225 couple, and $300 family. The park's site says day passes, memberships, and camping are cash or check only. Everyone on site signs a waiver, and helmets are required: no helmet, no ride, even in a cabbed side-by-side. Riding is on marked trails only, and glass bottles are not allowed.

Pennsylvania requires ATVs and UTVs to be registered and insured, but not dirt bikes. Camping is in developed campsites at $10 per adult per night, with kids under 18 free, and campfires are limited to those sites. Drinking water is not provided on site. The park also offers rustic rental units.

When to ride

Trails are open seven days a week from 9 am to 9 pm. A third-party listing says the park closes for the three weeks of Pennsylvania firearms deer season, starting the Monday before Thanksgiving, and that snowmobiles use the trails in winter. Confirm dates with the park before you go.
