Highland Park Resort

Cedartown, Georgia Private

Highland Park Resort is a private off-road park near Cedartown, Georgia, with about 85 miles of one-way trails, three MX tracks and a PeeWee track.

Highland Park Resort, also known as Highland Park Off-Road Resort and home to KTM World, is a private, pay-to-ride park in the hills of northwest Georgia. It advertises about 85 miles of marked riding on roughly 40 one-way trails, each rated on a five-level scale from beginner to expert. That makes it a good fit for a mixed group: novices and experts can share a parking spot and still ride trails that suit them. RiderPlanet describes the trails as mostly amateur-level, with some novice and some expert terrain, plenty of singletrack, small jumps, and bridged water crossings.

Beyond the trails, the park has three full-size natural-terrain motocross tracks (MX1 for vets and intermediates, MX2 for advanced and pro riders, MX3 for beginners) and a separate PeeWee track. Two scenic overlooks are also advertised. An on-site KTM and Husqvarna dealership provides parts and service, and the park rents dirt bikes and riding gear. Call ahead for rates and reservations.

Getting there

The park is at 1501 Culp Lake Road, Cedartown, GA 30125, in Polk County, and it is about 50 minutes to 1.5 hours from Atlanta. Birmingham and Chattanooga are roughly 20 to 30 minutes farther. The park warns riders not to trust a GPS or mapping app, because they cannot tell a paved road from a 4x4 road on the last stretch. Use the printed directions on the park's directions page instead. From Cedartown the route is south on Highway 27, then Highway 100 South, Lime Branch Road, and Culp Lake Road.

Fees, permits, and rules

There is no gate fee, but everyone, including spectators, must register and sign a liability release. The daily riding fees listed on the park's admission page are $35 for motorcycles, $55 for ATVs, $20 for riders aged 8 to 15, and $10 for passengers. Kids 7 and under and spectators are free. Paying in advance saves $5 per person for each additional consecutive day. Confirm current prices before you go.

  • Helmet, eye protection, and over-the-ankle boots are required; full gear is strongly suggested.
  • Anyone under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian with them at all times.
  • Side-by-sides of any kind are no longer allowed.
  • Generators must stay at or below 59 dB at 50 feet.
  • RiderPlanet lists a 96 dB sound limit and says a spark arrestor is recommended. The park's own pages did not state either rule.

The park is on private land, so Georgia public-land OHV rules do not apply here. The park's pages do not mention registration or title requirements.

Camping

Tent camping is free for anyone riding that day or the next. There are 20 RV sites with water and electric hookups, and five rental cabins with heating and air conditioning, a mini kitchen, and a loft.

When to ride

The park is open seven days a week from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM and closes for riding only on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, although camping stays open. Engines go off at 5:30 PM with no exceptions. RiderPlanet lists winter hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, which the park's site did not confirm. Elevations here are modest, roughly 950 to 1,200 feet, so riding is possible year-round.
