Durhamtown

Union Point, Georgia Private

Durhamtown is a private off-road park near Union Point, Georgia, with 150 miles of one-way trails, 35 miles of dirt bike singletrack, and motocross tracks.

Durhamtown, marketed today as Off-Road Adventures at Durhamtown (and known for years as Durhamtown Plantation and Georgia Off-Road Adventures), is a big pay-to-ride park in the Greene County countryside of east-central Georgia. The park advertises more than 5,000 acres, about 150 miles of signed one-way trails, and roughly 35 miles of singletrack. Some of the singletrack is marked for dirt bikes only. Emergency call boxes sit along the trails.

The trails are rated for a wide range of riders. Beginners get smooth, hard-packed routes with gentle turns, intermediate riders get berms and small jumps, and experts get hill climbs and technical sections. The park also runs 16 tracks. Dirt bike riders can use a learner track, a STACYC track, an Armadillo track, a PeeWee MX track, the Pro MX track (the Bomber), MX 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6, a Turbo Track, a GP Track, and a straight rhythm lane. There is also a drag strip. The Turbo Track, GP Track, and drag strip are shared with ATVs and side-by-sides. Expect a busy, family-oriented place with plenty of other machines on the property, not a quiet backwoods ride.

Getting there

The park is at 2350 Randolph Church Road, Union Point, GA 30669, in Greene County about halfway between Atlanta and Augusta. Everyone checks in at the lodge before riding. Amenities include cabins, an RV park, a pro shop, rentals, a cafe, and wash stations.

Fees, permits, and rules

Riding is by the day, and you must wear the armband you get at check-in; riding without one counts as trespassing. Posted day rates are $40 for men 16 and older on a bike or ATV, $30 for women and for children 9 to 15, and $15 for passengers and spectators. Children 8 and under are free. Side-by-side drivers pay $40 to $60 depending on engine size. Cabins and campsites do not include a ride pass. A signed waiver is required.

All trails are one way, and helmets must be strapped at all times. Alcohol is not allowed on the trails or tracks or during riding hours. Keep to 10 to 15 mph in campgrounds, parking lots, and around cabins. Riding on public roads or after closing costs you your riding privileges. After 7 p.m. nobody may start an engine at camp, and quiet time is 10 p.m.

Camping and lodging

Cabins run from about $40 to $250 a night. RV sites with full hookups start at $50 a night for 30 amp and $70 for 50 amp, with concrete pads at $100. Check-in is 3 p.m. and check-out is 11 a.m.

When to ride

The lodge is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the trails 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the tracks 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. No season is published, so call ahead or check the park's social media before you haul, especially since the park has changed hands and names before.
